Why Gouache Is the #1 Medium Artists Are Mastering Right Now

Gouache isn’t new, it’s been trusted for decades by top illustrators and animators. What’s changed is how today’s studio and plein air artists are rediscovering it. Gouache delivers the body and control of oil, yet can be diluted for watercolor-like effects, all in one versatile medium.

Artists love traveling with gouache because it’s lightweight, dries in minutes, and eliminates the need to carry wet paintings or solvents. You get rich color, flexibility, and speed without the hassle.

For some, gouache is the perfect travel medium. For others, it’s become their primary way of painting.

Who is This Special Live Event For?

Gouache Live is for you if you’re:

  • An artist curious about gouache but unsure how it really behaves once you start layering
  • Frustrated by muddy colors, overworking, or not knowing when to stop a gouache painting
  • Someone who wants clear, practical instruction instead of piecing things together from YouTube
  • An artist who wants to paint with more intention, confidence, and control, not guesswork
Discover, Learn, and Gain Confidence With Gouache

This is a live, two-day online event bringing together respected gouache artists to help you understand how gouache really works,  so you can paint with more clarity, confidence, and control.

No matter your background — watercolor, oil, illustration, or mixed media — you’ll learn practical gouache techniques, stronger decision-making, and a clear process you can apply immediately.

You’ll experience:

  • Live demonstrations that show exactly how artists think, layer, and solve problems in real time
  • Clear guidance on when to layer, when to simplify, and when to stop — without overworking
  • A renewed sense of confidence and momentum you can carry into your next gouache painting
